Developed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE is a powerful method for experiencing relief from stress, tension and trauma, by releasing deeply held tension in your body. TRE safely activates the body’s natural reflex mechanism of shaking/vibrating releasing muscular tension, which in turn will calm your nervous system. It is based on the fundamental idea, backed by research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. Therefore, this somatic based modality focuses on the physiology of the body instead of the psychology (and it is a wonderful way to complement talking therapies).

What can I expect from 1:1 sessions?

  • Intake form sent prior to the session (a space for you to share your concerns, needs and desires)

  • Explanation about this revolutionary method and self-regulation

  • Grounding and Somatic (body based) techniques and practices

  • A practical session ie –doing a set of activation exercises and then moving into the releasing/shaking/vibration. We will follow your body and what you need. We can modify the pace and exercises to suit your condition.

  • Relaxation

  • Debrief & after care TRE

  • Guidance on your next steps

Basic TRE can be learned in 3 or 4 sessions and can then be used as a tool throughout your life. For more complex needs and dependant on the situation, more sessions maybe needed.


If you are experienced with TRE process and self-regulation and want to go deeper, we will discuss about your shaking experience and I will guide you to explore further your body and shaking experience. We shake not only to release or process, but to connect.

Can I still get the same benefits from an online session?

One of the many benefits of online TRE® sessions is that they can be taken in the comfort of your own home. When TRE® is practised in an environment that feels safe, it can support a deep sense of rest, relaxation and ease.


TRE is suitable for most people, all levels of fitness and is a safe and very empowering process, provided you work within your limitations. However, there are some conditions in which TRE is not suitable or requires extra care.


It is not suitable if you have epilepsy, are pregnant, have had operation/recent injuries in the last 6-8 weeks, have physical limitations that prevent you from doing exercises, have a peacemaker, are on heavy medication for mental health and if you have severe trauma without other support and unable to self-regulate (unable to calm down when experiencing emotional distress). While TRE offers a range of benefits, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for any specific medical concerns.
